The Energy of a Smile

Yesterday when I was out in the world, I decided to make each person I came in contact with smile. Whether it was remarking about how great a woman’s sunglasses looked, which brought an immediate smile to her face; or in the dentist’s office telling a woman holding her 3-month-old infant, how precious her baby was; to saying hello to someone at the front desk who later said to me “God bless you,“ on his way out the door, every gesture, every brief contact brought an immediate smile from another person.

We hear so often how a smile, an affirmative word or gesture can make a true difference. Why not make it a daily practice? As an energy master teacher, I work with and know firsthand the power that energy yields. Every action has an energy associated with it and also garners an energetic response. What if we can change a world stuck on hate and divisiveness to one where kindness and compassion ruled? And what if each of us daily practiced the energy of a smile and brought about an energetic shift to another human being that influenced their future interactions and so on: One to another to another!

And the not so remarkable, yet wonderful outcome for me was that I felt elated and upbeat by sharing this easy and simple act. It only took seconds to accomplish and that feeling stayed with me throughout the day!

Take a moment to smile, to offer a kind word or gesture and make an impact on others today. More than likely, your act will favorably influence their future interactions, their temperament and how they view their day and also make you smile inside.
